MobileSOS Glossary

  • Panic Alarm – Setting off the standard alarm feature of MobileSOS. Initiates the sending of distress messages to a pre-defined list of contacts.
  • IVR – Interactive Voice response services to support customers of MobileSOS. This includes the administration and set-up services for Panic Alarm, Timer  and I'mOK.
  • I'mOK Alert – Proactive voice call message sent to pre-defined contacts to indicate the well being of the Customer.
  • Timer – Product feature of MobileSOS to allow for timer to be set for a user-defined period and resulting in a Timer Alarm if it is not deactivated within that time.
  • Voice Call Message – Message sent to a Customers’ Support Network as a result of either the Panic,Timer or I'mOK alerts being triggered. Message is made up of different elements depending on the type of call and the user defined information.
  • SMS Message – Text (SMS) message sent to a Customers’ Support Network with a mobile number in their details as a result of the  Alarm being activated. Message is a combination of the Customers’ Contact Details and Location Information.
  • Email Message – Message sent to a Customers’ Support Network with defined email details as a result of an Alarm being activated. Message is a combination of the Customers’ Contact Details  and Location Information.
  • Personal  Details – Customers own details and a part of the Voice Call Message. Contact Details are made up of Customer Name, Address and Mobile Number (fixed-line telephone if appropriate). Address is not included on SMS Message.
  • Alarm Messages – User-defined messages to be played to recipients on the Panic, Timer or I'mOK Support Network when an Alarm is activated.
  • Support Network – List of details (Name, Telephone Number and Email Address) of people in a sequential list to be contacted in the event of a Panic, Timer or IamOK Alert being activated.
  • Panic or Timer Support Network – Sequential list of details of people who will be contacted in the event of the Panic or Timer alert being activated. Up to five sets of details can be added of which up to three can be mobile numbers.
  • I'mOK Alert Support Network – List of up to two people who will receive the I'mOK Alert when activated.
  • Location Information – Information on the Customers location, which is appended to the various Voice Call, SMS and email Messages. This is in the form of a distance from a local landmark/ street.
  • Username - Registered mobile number used for login
  • vCard - is an electronic business card standard devised by the Internet Mail. vCards are the mechanism by which most phones and other applications on the market today store and send address book entries.
